Choose the engagement by the decision you need to make
Incident response services help an organisation investigate and manage a security event, limit its impact and restore controlled operation. For an AI-connected environment, the investigation may need to follow an application run into an identity, tool, retrieval source and downstream business system. Atlant Security scopes that work with your incident owner and existing technical teams.
Start with the question blocking your next decision. Do you need help restricting an ongoing action, determining whether data was disclosed, validating recovery or preparing your team before an event? These requests have different access needs, work products and commercial terms.
Four ways to engage
| Need | Work to scope | Decision supported |
|---|---|---|
| Suspected or active incident | Triage, approved containment, evidence preservation and investigation | Which capability should be restricted and who must act? |
| Unclear historical event | Bounded forensic reconstruction from retained records | What happened, and what cannot be established? |
| Recovery after containment | Permission review, dependency checks and regression validation | What evidence supports restarting the workload? |
| Readiness before an event | Plan, tabletop exercise or retainer preparation | Can the organisation authorise and execute a response? |
How the work fits your existing response
Your incident lead remains accountable for operational decisions. We agree technical questions, collection permissions and the division of work with application, cloud, identity and data owners. An existing SOC can supply alerts; developers can explain orchestration and deployments; the provider may hold records unavailable to the customer. None of those records should be assumed to tell the whole story on its own.
If the event also includes endpoint compromise, ransomware, payment fraud or another specialist requirement, identify existing responders and missing capabilities at scoping. This AI-focused service does not automatically include every form of enterprise breach recovery, negotiation or legal representation.
What the response should leave behind
- An evidence register identifying sources and important gaps.
- A timeline separating observed activity from working hypotheses.
- A record of containment decisions, approvals and consequences.
- An affected-system and data assessment with confidence and limitations.
- Recovery acceptance checks, residual risks and accountable owners.
See the deliverables specification and AI forensic investigation approach for the detail behind those outputs.
Availability and cost are scoping questions
The team confirms availability, the appropriate engagement and a secure route for detailed information. For continuing readiness, a retainer must identify coverage hours, activation contacts and any accepted response commitment. Evidence volume, system boundaries and recovery work affect an investigation estimate. Read what drives incident-response cost before comparing proposals.
A recognised response foundation
NIST SP 800-61 Rev. 3 places response within wider cybersecurity risk management. We use that context to connect immediate technical decisions with preparation, recovery and improvement, while specifying the actual work in the engagement scope.
Discuss your situation
Build an incident brief with non-sensitive context, or request a scope discussion. We confirm people, access, fees and availability before work begins.
